My adventure began with a desire to combine academic studies with hands-on international experience. This led me to Denmark, where I earned an undergraduate degree in public relations and pursued graduate studies in communications and international development. In 2004 I was recruited by a professor for a project assisting the Ghanaian government. This successful venture led to other missions across West Africa, including media relations and publicity for troupes in the Cirque du Monde program and an international campaign for the World March of Women.
Fast forward to 2008. As Quebec organizations began embracing digital and social media and online education, I was offered an opportunity that would change the course of my career. Creating multimedia content and updating online courses gave me a glimpse of the boundless possibilities of these powerfully interactive and potentially very simple new media forms.
I then joined CEFRIO (Centre facilitating research and innovation in organizations with information and communications technology), where I oversaw communications until August 2012, helped manage the digital aspects of the International French Language Forum, and sat on the jury of the Awards of Excellence in French Information Technologies and the Social Media Committee of the Francophone Association of Learning (ACFAS).
A new adventure began in fall 2012 when I founded m interactive communication. The “m” represents the many facets of what I do: traditional media, social media, marketing and the Web (after all, a “w” is just an upside down m!). The company’s core services build on the exciting possibilities of new media by developing strategies tailored to clients’ needs and leveraging new practices to create long-term value and efficiencies.
Today I enjoy a rich professional life as a communications and new media consultant and QuébecInnove board member. With a full slate of services, I provide clients the support they need to achieve their communications goals along with impactful in-house professional development and coaching to ensure the strategies we choose together consistently deliver long-term results.
